NDC aspirant urges IGP to invite Nana B over alleged drug trafficking claims

An aspiring Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Kpando Constituency, Jerry Amfield Nyonyo, has called on the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to invite the National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, to assist with investigations into alleged drug trafficking activities.

The call follows allegations made by Nana B at an NPP press conference on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.

Nana B, whose comments were also discussed on Akpini Radio 96.7 FM's Daybreak Show, alleged that drug traffickers had established clandestine laboratories in Ghana to process illicit drugs and narcotics for export.

He further alleged that some government officials were facilitating the movement of the narcotics out of the country.

Reacting to the claims, Mr Nyonyo said Nana B could be in possession of information that might assist the security agencies in establishing the facts surrounding the allegations.

He therefore urged the IGP to invite the NPP National Organiser to provide any concrete evidence or specific information in his possession to support investigations.

Mr Nyonyo said that if the allegations were substantiated, the information could help security agencies identify individuals or networks allegedly involved in the illicit activities and facilitate appropriate legal action.

He, however, noted that Nana B did not disclose the locations of the alleged laboratories or provide publicly verifiable evidence to support his claims during the press conference.
