Subin MP supports JHS graduates with food items and school supplies

The Member of Parliament for the Subin Constituency, Hon. Lawyer Kofi Obiri Yeboah, has supported Junior High School (JHS) graduates preparing to enter Senior High School (SHS) with food items, mattresses, trunks and chop boxes to help ease the financial burden on parents and guardians.

The items were distributed on Monday, September 21, 2026, at the Prempeh Assembly Hall in the Subin Constituency.

Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the presentation, Hon. Kofi Obiri Yeboah said his own educational journey had played a significant role in shaping his life, motivating him to support students in the constituency.

According to him, “school is what has made me who I am,” and he believes in creating opportunities and providing the necessary support to help students develop into responsible members of society.

The MP acknowledged the financial challenges confronting many parents and said the initiative was intended to reduce some of the pressure on families whose children are transitioning to Senior High School.

He said the items distributed included mattresses, chop boxes and close to 1,000 boxes of packaged food products, including Milo, sugar, Nido, sardines, gari, shito, milk, biscuits and other basic provisions.

Hon. Kofi Obiri Yeboah also urged the beneficiaries to avoid negative influences and drug use, respect their teachers and remain committed to their studies.

He stressed that discipline and hard work were essential to achieving academic success.

The MP explained that the donation forms part of a broader educational support programme and follows the award of scholarships to 500 students within the constituency.

Looking ahead, Hon. Kofi Obiri Yeboah pledged to make the distribution of food items, mattresses and chop boxes to students an annual exercise.

He said the initiative would help support students as they begin their Senior High School education while reducing some of the financial pressure on their parents and guardians.

The intervention is expected to provide practical assistance to students entering a new phase of their education while reinforcing the importance of education, discipline and hard work among young people in the Subin Constituency.
