Dream Makers Foundation donates school bags, stationery to pupils in Asankran Breman

The non-profit organisation, Dream Makers Foundation has presented brand-new school bags and essential learning materials to pupils of Asankran Breman Roman Catholic Basic School and the local M/A Junior High School in the Wassa Amenfi West Municipality of the Western Region of Ghana.

The donation exercise, which took place on Friday, September 11, 2026, forms part of the foundation's maiden outreach aimed at alleviating the financial burden on vulnerable parents and curbing classroom deficits in rural communities.

Addressing school authorities, parents, and pupils during the presentation ceremony, the Founder and Executive Director of Dream Makers Foundation, Leticia Gyetuah, stated that personal childhood memories of seeing children struggle for basic school logistics inspired the initiative.

"Growing up, it was heartbreaking to watch children drop out or struggle in the classroom simply because they lacked basic learning materials," Mrs. Gyetuah noted. "This foundation was established alongside like-minded partners to bridge that gap. We intend to expand this initiative in the coming years to reach more rural schools across the district."

She called on philanthropists, corporate bodies, and well-endowed individuals to partner with the charity to widen its social intervention programs, stressing that public service and community upliftment remain shared civic responsibilities.

Founded in August 2025 and officially launched four months later at the Asankran Breman Durbar Grounds, the foundation focuses on child welfare, providing direct support to orphans and underprivileged children.

Receiving the items on behalf of their respective institutions, the Headmaster of Breman R/C, Gilbert Nyame, and the Assistant Headmaster of Breman M/A JHS, Theophilus (Brainzee), commended the foundation for prioritizing rural education.

The school heads observed that several pupils come from low-income homes where parents struggle to afford exercise books and school bags, noting that the intervention arrived at a crucial time. They appealed to other organizations and benevolent natives of Asankran Breman to emulate the gesture.

Pupils of both schools welcomed the donation with excitement, expressing gratitude to Mrs. Gyetuah for returning to support her native community.

Mrs. Gyetuah was accompanied by the Foundation's Secretary, Georgina Inusah, along with other executive members and volunteers of the organization.
