Dream Makers Foundation donates school bags, stationery to pupils in Asankran Breman

Dream Makers Foundation, a non-profit organization, has donated brand-new school bags and essential learning materials to pupils of the Asankran Breman Roman Catholic Basic School and the local M/A Junior High School in the Wassa Amenfi West Municipality of the Western Region.

The donation exercise, held on Friday, September 11, 2026, marks the foundation’s maiden outreach, aimed at easing the financial burden on vulnerable parents and addressing classroom resource deficits in rural communities.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Founder and Executive Director of Dream Makers Foundation, Leticia Gyetuah, said her personal childhood experiences—watching children struggle for basic school supplies—motivated the initiative.

“Growing up, it was heartbreaking to see children drop out or struggle in the classroom simply because they lacked basic learning materials,” Mrs. Gyetuah said. “This foundation was established with like‑minded partners to bridge that gap. We intend to expand this initiative in the coming years to reach more rural schools across the district.”

She appealed to philanthropists, corporate bodies, and well‑resourced individuals to partner with the foundation to broaden its social intervention programs, emphasizing that community upliftment is a shared civic responsibility.

Founded in August 2025 and officially launched four months later at the Asankran Breman Durbar Grounds, the foundation focuses on child welfare, providing direct support to orphans and underprivileged children.

Receiving the items on behalf of their schools, the Headmaster of Breman R/C, Gilbert Nyame, and the Assistant Headmaster of Breman M/A JHS, Theophilus (Brainzee), commended the foundation for prioritizing rural education. They noted that many pupils come from low‑income households where parents struggle to provide exercise books and school bags, adding that the intervention arrived at a critical moment. They also encouraged other organizations and benevolent natives of Asankran Breman to emulate the gesture.

Pupils of both schools welcomed the donation with excitement and expressed gratitude to Mrs. Gyetuah for returning to support her native community.

Mrs. Gyetuah was accompanied by the Foundation’s Secretary, Georgina Inusah, along with other executive members and volunteers.
