Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has confirmed the repatriation of musician Barosky to Ghana following his ordeal in Manchester in the United Kingdom.

Barosky’s plight was brought to public attention after he spoke about his difficult circumstances in an interview with OKAY FM’s Nana Romeo, who was in the United Kingdom.

Following the reports, the government intervened to facilitate the musician’s return to Ghana.

In a social media post announcing his repatriation, Mr Ablakwa said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had fully funded Barosky’s return and was providing additional support to assist him with his reintegration.

He said the support included psychosocial assistance and financial aid as the musician settles back into life in Ghana.

The minister’s post read:
“I can confirm that we have repatriated Barosky and he is safely back with us in Ghana.

As part of our consular mandate, the Foreign Ministry fully sponsored his repatriation to Ghana last night. We are also providing psychosocial support and a reintegration financial assistance.

We are most grateful to our fellow citizens, particularly Nana Romeo, for bringing Barosky’s heart-wrenching plight in Manchester to our attention.

I commend our High Commission in the UK for their impressive coordination.

We strive to leave no Ghanaian behind.
For God and Country.”
