A 40-year-old woman, Yaa Achiaa, is receiving medical treatment after her landlord’s wife allegedly bit off part of her ear during a physical altercation at Fufuo in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region.
The incident reportedly followed a disagreement over the disciplining of a child and left Yaa Achiaa with serious injuries and heavy bleeding.
According to the victim’s account, she was correcting her daughter over alleged misconduct when her landlord’s wife, identified only as Afia, intervened and allegedly encouraged the child to disobey her.
Yaa Achiaa reportedly confronted Afia over her alleged interference, leading to an exchange of words that later escalated into a physical confrontation.
During the struggle, Afia allegedly bit off part of Yaa Achiaa’s ear, causing her to bleed profusely.
Residents who witnessed the incident intervened and separated the two women before rushing the injured woman to a nearby health facility, where she received first aid.
Although the police have yet to officially comment on the incident, residents say the development has shocked the community.
They are calling for a thorough investigation into the matter to prevent possible retaliation and further tension between the parties.
