Bawumia engages nurses and midwives on healthcare policy and welfare

Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has engaged the national executives of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) to gather policy recommendations aimed at shaping the future of Ghana’s healthcare sector.

The engagement focused on practical measures to improve healthcare delivery, with particular attention to education, health sector infrastructure and the welfare and working conditions of nurses and midwives.

Dr. Bawumia held discussions with the leadership of the association as part of efforts to obtain direct input from frontline healthcare professionals on the challenges confronting the sector and possible solutions.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the GRNMA executives to share recommendations on strengthening professional education and training, improving healthcare infrastructure and developing sustainable interventions to address the concerns of nurses and midwives.

The discussions also highlighted the importance of improving the working environment for frontline health personnel, who play a critical role in delivering healthcare services across the country.

Dr. Bawumia said the inputs from the association would be important in developing practical policies capable of addressing challenges within the health sector and improving conditions for healthcare professionals.

The engagement forms part of broader efforts to consult key stakeholders and incorporate their experiences and recommendations into policy discussions on the future of healthcare in Ghana.
