GSA emerges top performer as 2025 surplus surges from GH¢69.52 million to GH¢258.3million

The Ghana Shippers’ Authority (GSA), under the leadership of its Chief Executive Officer, Professor Ransford Gyampo, has recorded a net surplus of GH¢258.30 million in the 2025 financial year, representing a 271.52% increase from the GH¢69.52 million posted in 2024.

The strong financial performance was captured in the 2025 State Ownership Report by the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA), placing the GSA among the better-performing state-owned enterprises during the year under review.

The Authority’s total income also recorded a significant increase, nearly doubling year-on-year to GH¢380.15 million.

Its surplus margin rose sharply from 36.25% in 2024 to 67.95% in 2025, pointing to substantial improvements in revenue generation and operational efficiency.

The GSA’s balance sheet also strengthened during the period, with total assets reaching GH¢979.92 million and its accumulated fund increasing to GH¢810.46 million.

The latest figures indicate a marked improvement in the Authority’s financial position and performance, amid efforts to strengthen revenue management and operational controls.

The Ghana Shippers’ Authority is mandated to protect and promote the interests of shippers and facilitate efficiency across Ghana’s trade and transport logistics sector.

The Authority’s role remains particularly significant as activities across the country’s ports, freight and haulage sectors continue to expand.

SIGA’s State Ownership Report assesses the financial and operational performance of state-owned entities, with the GSA’s 2025 results emerging as one of the notable performances recorded in the latest assessment.
