The National Service Authority (NSA) has reopened its portal for the application of PIN codes by defaulters and private candidates for the 2026/2027 service year.

The portal reopened on Monday, August 31, and will remain open until Friday, September 4.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Authority said the extension is the final opportunity for eligible applicants who are yet to complete their registration to regularise their status and obtain their PIN-codes.

“The Management of the National Service Authority (NSA) wishes to inform the general public that the portal for the application of Pin-Codes for defaulters and private candidates for the 2026/2027 service year has been reopened from Monday, 31st August 2026 to Friday, 4th September 2026," the statement read in part.

The affected categories include private candidates, defaulters, Ghanaian nationals who have completed their studies abroad and applicants who have faced extenuating circumstances in completing their registration.

The NSA urged all eligible applicants to use the reopening period to complete their online registration and submit all required documents at designated NSA offices.

It further advised applicants to ensure that their registration requirements and supporting documents are submitted before the deadline.

The Authority reminded the public that under the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119), every Ghanaian citizen who has completed an accredited tertiary institution is required to undertake national service to the state.

It said applicants who fail to complete the process within the extension period could lose the opportunity to obtain their PIN-codes under the current arrangement.

“Please note that Friday, 4th September 2026, shall be the Final Deadline for the application of Pin-Codes for Defaulters and Private Candidates under this extension," the statement stressed.
