GNFS dismisses alleged non-payment of 2025 rent allowance 

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has dismissed as false reports circulating on social media that the Service had failed to pay its personnel their 2025 rent allowance.

A statement issued by Divisional Officer I Emmanuel Bonney, Head of Public Relations of the GNFS, and copied to the Ghana News Agency, said Management had completed payment of the 2025 rent allowance, with the last tranche of the full payment effected in April 2026.

It said the reports making rounds on social media were therefore misleading and urged personnel and the public to disregard them.

With regard to the 2026 rent allowance, the statement said a committee had been constituted to ensure that the allowance was mechanised for payment as soon as possible.

It assured personnel that Management remained committed to addressing their welfare concerns, including issues relating to compensation.

“Management appreciates the patience of personnel and would like to reassure them of its commitment in addressing all issues of welfare including compensation,” it said.

It stated that the Service would continue to operate an open-door policy and provide transparent information to its personnel.

The statement urged the public to refrain from further circulating the false information, stressing that doing so could create unnecessary anxiety among personnel and the general public.

It said the GNFS remained committed to keeping its personnel properly informed on matters concerning their welfare.
