NARC Congratulates Prof. Christian Agyare on Appointment as 13th Vice-Chancellor of KNUST

The Norwegian-African Relations Consult (NARC) has extended warm congratulations to Professor Christian Agyare following his appointment and induction as the 13th Vice-Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

In a statement, NARC described Prof. Agyare’s elevation as a significant milestone that reflects “leadership dynamism in higher education institutions, innovation in research, and renewed confidence in global collaboration on the African continent.”

The organisation noted that it is closely observing Prof. Agyare’s early engagements with the Chancellor, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the University Council, and the wider university community as he outlines his vision for KNUST. According to NARC, the Vice-Chancellor’s emphasis on unity, entrepreneurship, research, technology, and scientific innovation aligns with the institution’s long-term development goals.

On the international front, NARC highlighted Prof. Agyare’s ambition to expand KNUST’s global partnerships during his four-year tenure—an agenda that resonates strongly with NARC’s own mission of strengthening cooperation between Norway and Africa.

The organisation, which specializes in bridging business and cultural relations between Norway and African countries, expressed readiness to collaborate with KNUST on strategic initiatives that support the university’s development priorities.

NARC further commended Prof. Agyare for championing scientific education and aligning his agenda with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), describing these efforts as essential for advancing progress across the Global South.

“Prof. Agyare has exhibited this drive as a force for development through scientific education, and he needs to be commended and supported to achieve more at a higher pedestal,” the statement said.
