Airport area to experience five-hour power outage – ECG

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a scheduled five-hour power outage in parts of Accra on Sunday, August 2, 2026, to facilitate maintenance works aimed at improving electricity supply.

In a notice issued by its Accra East Region, the power distributor said customers within the Airport area and surrounding communities will experience a temporary interruption in electricity supply while the maintenance exercise is carried out.

The planned outage is expected to last from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

According to ECG, the maintenance forms part of its ongoing efforts to improve the reliability and efficiency of power supply to customers in the affected areas.

The company apologised for the inconvenience the temporary interruption may cause and appealed to residents and businesses to bear with the situation as engineers undertake the necessary works to enhance service delivery.
