Standard Chartered Ghana has concluded its 130 Days of Kindness community impact campaign, delivering a series of initiatives that strengthened youth empowerment, financial inclusion, environmental sustainability and community development across the country.

Implemented over a period of four months this year, as part of the bank's 130th anniversary in Ghana, the campaign brought together employees, clients and community partners to support programmes focused on, youth and women's empowerment, financial education, environmental stewardship and social inclusion, reflecting the Bank's longstanding commitment to creating positive and lasting impact in the communities it serves.

The campaign delivered financial literacy sessions in partnership with the Bank’s clients to equip young people and female factory workers with essential money management skills. To mark International Women’s Month, female employees engaged in mentoring programmes with university students sharing practical experiences and tools to succeed. Additionally, an outreach programme to mark World Menstrual Hygiene Day reached more than 1,000 girls across 27 basic schools with menstrual health education and distribution of free dignity kits. Other initiatives included community engagements during Ramadan and activities that empowered and celebrated women and girls during International Women's Day.

Among the campaign's largest initiatives was a tree planting exercise at the Shai Hills Resource Reserve, where close to 200 employees joined national efforts to promote environmental sustainability and climate resilience in recognition of World Environment Day. The programme further highlighted the Bank's strong culture of employee volunteering, with colleagues contributing their time, skills and expertise to initiatives that addressed real community needs while supporting sustainable development.

Speaking on the campaign, Asiedua Addae, Head of Corporate Affairs, Brand and Marketing at Standard Chartered Ghana, said:

"In a year that marks 130 years in Ghana, our 130 Days of Kindness campaign reflects what matters most to us as an organisation - creating meaningful impact beyond banking. By working alongside our colleagues, clients and community partners, we have supported initiatives that empower young people, strengthen financial capability, promote inclusion and contribute to environmental sustainability. These are the kinds of partnerships that help build stronger, more resilient communities."

The campaign forms part of Standard Chartered Ghana's broader philanthropic agenda, which focuses on expanding economic opportunity, supporting the transition to a lower-carbon economy and investing in programmes that improve lives through strategic partnerships, employee volunteering and the work of the Standard Chartered Foundation.

As the Bank marks 130 years of contributing to the country’s growth and development, it remains committed to building on this legacy by working with communities and partners to create sustainable, long-term impact.
