The Dormaa East District Assembly has successfully conducted an electronic tender opening for the procurement and supply of metal and wooden dual desks for selected schools across the district.

The exercise, held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the Assembly Hall, was carried out through the Ghana Electronic Procurement System (GHANEPS) as part of the Assembly’s budgetary allocation under the District Assemblies Common Fund. The initiative aims to finance eligible contract payments to improve educational infrastructure.

The tender opening was conducted transparently by the Tender Opening Panel in full compliance with the Public Procurement Act, using the digital procurement platform. The adoption of this electronic system underscores the Assembly’s commitment to fairness, public accountability, and achieving value for money in public spending.

By providing these dual desks, the Assembly seeks to enhance classroom conditions and create a more conducive learning environment for pupils across the district.

Following the tender opening, the Entity Tender Committee convened to review the overall outcome of the exercise. The meeting was attended by the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Raphael Dodzi Sorkpor, who represented the Entity Tender Committee Chairman and District Chief Executive, Hon. Osei Owusu King.

Addressing committee members, Mr. Sorkpor expressed satisfaction with the smooth execution of the electronic tender opening. He commended the Tender Opening Panel and all officers involved for their professionalism, transparency, and strict adherence to procurement guidelines. He noted that the Assembly remains committed to strengthening governance through digital systems that foster public confidence.

The Dormaa East District Assembly expressed gratitude to all stakeholders who contributed to the successful execution of the process. The Assembly will now proceed to the subsequent evaluation stages of the procurement cycle to ensure the timely delivery of desks to beneficiary schools.
