The Zug-Raan, Bawku Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II, Overlord of the Kusaug Traditional Area, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the Overlord of Dagbon, His Royal Majesty Yaa Naa Mahama Abukari II.
In a statement signed by his Secretary, David Adoliba, the Zug-Raan described the late Yaa Naa as a distinguished traditional ruler whose leadership and commitment to peaceful coexistence left a lasting impact on his people and neighbouring communities.
The statement noted that the late monarch's dedication to fostering good neighbourliness played a vital role in promoting peace and harmony.
“His commitment to good neighborliness is key to the maintenance of peace among communities in this turbulent world,” the statement said.
On behalf of the chiefs, elders, queen mothers, youth and the entire people of the Kusaug Traditional Area, the Zug-Raan extended his heartfelt condolences to the Royal Family and the people of Dagbon during their period of bereavement.
“We stand in solidarity with them during this period of mourning and pray that the Almighty God will give them comfort and guide them through a successful transition,” the statement added.
The Zug-Raan also prayed for the peaceful repose of the late Yaa Naa, expressing hope that his legacy of leadership, unity and service would continue to inspire future generations.
“May the Almighty God grant Yaa Naa Mahama Abukari II eternal rest, and may his legacy continue to inspire generations to come,” the statement concluded.
