Greetings, fellow Ghanaians
The tale of our country is one of resiliency, optimism, hardship, and victory. However, that narrative has been tainted by adversity and failure in recent years. All too frequently, the promises of change have turned into dissatisfaction. Ordinary families are burdened by rising debt, persistent unemployment, and high living expenses. Bright and eager, our young people walk aimlessly in pursuit of professions that never materialize, their aspirations postponed by a system that has let them down.
We have witnessed procurement procedures veiled in secrecy, accountability sacrificed at the altar of expediency, and corruption scandals tarnish the pages of our democracy. Value-for-money standards are undermined by sole-sourced contracts, which make up a sizable portion of government spending. According to surveys, over 80% of Ghanaians think corruption is deeply ingrained in governmental institutions, but convictions continue to be inconsistent and selective.
As vigilante violence tainted the 2025 transition, we have witnessed institutions crumble, revealing weaknesses in our administration and gaps in our law enforcement. Businesses are still severely hampered by power supply issues, and Ghana is even more susceptible to outside shocks due to debt accumulation. These mistakes are not far-off echoes; rather, they are the everyday experiences of families, business owners, and communities all over the nation. Rising prices put a strain on families, unstable energy supplies cause businesses to suffer, and young people lose faith in a system that ought
Ghana is not broken, though. Ghana is holding out. I'm waiting for vision that can turn frustration into faith and for leadership that can turn despair into resolve. Ghana is in need of a leader who can speak both the language of numbers and the pulse of the populace.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is that leader.
Dr. Bawumia is a technocrat with the spirit of transformation and the intellect of an economist, not just a politician. He has demonstrated to us that contemporary, effective, and transparent governance is possible. From the Ghana Card to mobile interoperability and e-governance reforms, his digitalization program is about dignity rather than just technology. All Ghanaians should have access, corruption should be decreased, and the people should be served by the state rather than the other way around.
Dr. Bawumia has shown expertise and clarity in areas where the current government has failed to protect residents' livelihoods and has fallen in fiscal discipline. He has brought about life-changing reforms in places where promises have been broken. He has created opportunities for innovation where bureaucracy has impeded advancement.
Beyond technology and economy, however, Dr. Bawumia stands for something more profound: unification. His ascent, as a son of the Northern Region, represents the promise of inclusivity—that leaders can come from all parts of Ghana. Ghana's voice is heard and appreciated on the international scene because of his international credibility. He connects the local and the global, the old and the new, the hope of the past and the promise of the future.
Fellow Ghanaians, encouraging others is just as important to leadership as controlling numbers. Trust, vision, and the guts to take action are all important. A modern, inclusive, and competitive vision of Ghana has been repeatedly expressed by Dr. Bawumia. He promises to keep moving forward while fixing the mistakes that have undermined our social and economic cohesion.
Let's not let the mistakes of the past hold us back as 2028 draws near. Let's focus on the future, where promise and opportunity collide. Let's unite behind a leader capable of transforming Ghana's problems into opportunities, converting our frustrations into faith, and leading us with skill, vision, and solidarity.
Dr. Bawumia is essential to Ghana not only for change but also for advancement, hope, and the revitalization of our national narrative.
Tipariga is my name and I will be back.
