In unity lies strength whilst disunity begets weakness and failure, some advice to the NPP faithful, especially, their party leaders.
Should they be reminded about this at all, having done politics since the beginning of the independence of Ghana?
Whenever it comes to competing for intra-party positions in preparation towards general elections or party leadership positions, there always appears fissures within the party and among the members. They become like enemies, mad dogs biting each other in what may be a fight for survival. How disgusting they are!
Why can’t the NPP faithful be united like the NDC members but are always acrimoniously fighting among themselves, washing, and drying their eyesore linens in public for all to see?
Each member claims to know much better than the other so must be offered the position. Failing to land the position they aspired to, they either decide to quit the party to form their splinter movements or hatch plots to undermine the party and wish it fails. How demonic they can be!
To some of the aspirants, it is, if I don’t succeed, all must fail, hence the formations of “The Butterfly Movement” by Mr Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng and “The Base” by some peeved NPP members with a faceless leader.
All these fragmentations leading to failure come about because of rumoured and or, glare, dishonesty, and pomposity among the leaders to capriciously change party rules and regulations to allegedly favour some particular person or persons when they perceive the going to have gotten tough, slippery, and tricky.
Rules are rules. They must be always respected and adhered to once they have generally been assented to and accepted by the party members.
Yes, one will feel annoyed when they perceive that the standing rules have been changed at the last minute on intent to favour a particular person or persons. Why can't the NPP overcome this rumoured problem? They have to avoid unnecessary accusations that give rise to the seasonal accusations and people quitting the party to form splinter movements that in the end cost the party dearly?
Until the party unites like the NDC, wrestling power from the NDC will be tough unless the come-to-stay 8-yearly cyclical rotation of power between NPP and NDC plays its role as it has been doing. Even at that, the divisions within the party with some quitting as said, will tip the balance in favour of NDC come the end of their 8-year tenure of office.
Unite or lose election 2028, warning to NPP.
Again, when you get power, always try to remember your grassroots. Discontinue being selfish, arrogant, and disrespectful towards them, pretending you had never known them. Respect those that always vote for you but not only during the time of campaign when you need their support and vote most.
I pray all the splinter groups will come back into the mainstream to make the NPP strong and a formidable force to reckon with come election 2028.
Rally behind elected NPP flag bearer Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia to take the party back to the presidency come 2028 general election.
Once again, I advise you to beware of the dangers and defeatism of the injurious infightings and split-ups. It is self-infliction of calamity upon you should you continue down the path the writer has advised you against.
The writer hopes his advice will be adhered to by all serious NPP members and supporters.
Long live NPP. Long live Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP flag bearer and presidential candidate going into election 2028.
