Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, KMA Rally Muslims Towards Peaceful Eid Celebration In Kumasi

The Ashanti Regional branch of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission has used this year’s Eid Ul Adha celebration to send a strong message of peace, discipline, and unity to Muslim youth across the region.

Speaking during a special Eid gathering held at T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School on Wednesday, the Ashanti Regional President of the Mission, Jamil Ibrahim Badu, urged young Muslims to stay away from violence and all forms of misconduct that could overshadow the spiritual importance of the sacred Islamic festival.

He stressed that Eid Ul Adha is a solemn occasion that commemorates the obedience and sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim and therefore must be celebrated with dignity, humility, and strict adherence to Islamic teachings.

According to him, the true essence of the celebration lies in self-discipline, love, sacrifice, and submission to the will of Allah.

Jamil Ibrahim Badu warned that acts of violence, lawlessness, and immoral behaviour have no place in Islam and should not be associated with Eid festivities.

“They must respect it and see it as an important occasion. They should not do things that are against the law and the Quran,” he advised.

The Islamic scholar further encouraged Muslims to use the occasion to deepen their faith, promote peaceful coexistence, and extend support to the needy within their communities.

Addressing the gathering, the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, through its Metropolitan Coordinating Director Mr. Francis Dwira Darko, delivered a message on behalf of Kumasi Mayor Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi.

The statement extended warm Eid greetings to Muslims and highlighted the enduring lessons of sacrifice, obedience, and unity embodied by Prophet Ibrahim.

“On this sacred occasion, we reflect on the profound sacrifices of Prophet Ibrahim. The foundation of this season is love, obedience, sacrifice, and oneness,” the statement noted.

The Mayor also commended the Ahmadiyya Muslim community for championing peace and humanity through its globally recognized motto, “Love for All, Hatred for None.”

He urged Muslims to continue living according to the peaceful teachings of the Holy Quran and the example set by Prophet Muhammad.

“As we celebrate Eid Ul Adha, let us rededicate ourselves to the core Islamic values of peace and love. Peace is the main pillar upon which development rests,” the statement added.

The celebration brought together Muslim faithful, religious leaders, and community stakeholders who joined in prayers for peace, national unity, and the continued progress of Ghana.
