The Municipal Chief executive for Nkoranza south, Hon. Godfred Dapaa on the occasion of the 1st ordinary meeting of the Nkoranza south municipal Assembly meeting held on Friday at the assembly conference. Hon. Godfred Dapaa cease the opportunity to appeal to the house to take security matters in the municipality very serious, he urge the citizenry to support the police in their efforts to make our communities safe. He further stress that under No circumstance should we shield trouble makers because we have special relationship with them.

In his remark, he outline some progress the municipality as made in terms of security, Education, developmental projects, Agriculture, sanitation management, social intervention among others.

Under developmental projects: Honourable godfred Dapaa, stress that, the following are the District Assembly Common Fund projects (DACF) that were awarded in the municipality and are duly completed.

  1. Constraction of 1 No 3 –Units classroom Block at Okatakyie JHS, Breman Nkoranza.
  2. Constraction of 1 NO 2- Unit KG block with Ancillary Facilities at Mim Amponsahkrom.
  3. Constraction of CHPSs Compound with staff Quarters at Makyinmabre
  4. Drilling and Mechanization of 15 No Boreholes at 15 selected Towns and Communities.

The MCE was also quick to added that some projects have been awarded and is currently on-going at various stages in the Municipality.

  1. Constraction of 6 -Unit classroom Block at Mempeaasem
  2. Constraction of 2- storey health directorate (phase 1) at Nkoranza
  3. Constraction of CHPs Compound at Akropong
  4. Constraction of Municipal Court Complex
  5. Constraction of 24 hour Economy Market, the project have been awarded, site preparation on-going , sod-cutting will follow very soon.
  6. Supply of school Furniture’s – procurement process ongoing.
  7. Nkoranza community centre- procurement process on-going.

With regard to health sector, Hon. Godfred informed the house, the assembly in collaboration with government and relevant stakeholders successfully facilitated the distribution of essential health logistics under the National Operation programme (NOP) these support includes; distribution of motorbikes to health workers to enhance mobility, donation of resuscitation equipment to improve access to health care services particularly in hard-to-reach communities.

In the area of performance with regards to health he said he was pleased to inform the house that the municipality recorded notable improvement during the district and Regional End-of- Year Assessment

The municipality as advanced from the 18th position to 5th position which reflects our collective efforts.

Following the successful inauguration of the municipal claims and compensation Committee, on the 8th of December, 2025. The Municipal chief executive said the committee undertook series of stakeholder engagement and farm Inspection to address conflicts between farmers and herdsmen, the committee has established a solid foundation for compensation and remains committed to promoting peaceful coexistence in the municipality.

Under Education. The MCE said the municipal education directorate successfully facilitated key academic activities, including the organization and supervision of continues assessment as well as Mock examinations conducted to adequately prepare candidates for the Basic Education certificate Examination (BECE) which took place in seven centers cross the Municipality with total of 2,226 pupils participating in the Exams made up of 1,049 males and 1,177 females.

However, under the social inclusion and integration of the marginalized groups, the Assembly with support under the integrated social services (ISS) delivery programme trained thirty (30) stakeholders on inter-Sectorial standard operation procedures (ISSOP) and child protection to strengthen service delivery on social programmes

General revenue performance for the period under review, the Assembly projected a revised total budget of Fifty –two million, Five Hundred and twenty nine Thousand ,one hundred and Thirty –six Ghana cedis ,sixty- four Pesewas (GH52,529,136.64) for the 2025 fiscal year but realized Twenty –Four million ,Seven Hundred and Thirty – Nine Thousand ,Two Hundred and Fifty – Six Ghana cedis and Eighty – Six pesewas (GH₵24,739,256.86) representing 47.10 ⅞.

Internal generated fund, (IGF) at the end of the first quarter of 2026, the assembly realized a total internal generated fund of Three hundred and Thirty thousand, three hundred and twenty two Ghana Cedis, Sixty-Three Pesewas (GH₵ 330,322,61) in our effort to ensure the growth of the municipality we call for more collaborative efforts to raise more revenue in future.
