The Deputy Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Mr Mohammed Adams Sukparuhas, has reaffirmed Ghana’s readiness for inclusive digital transformation and stronger global regulatory cooperation.
He said this on Wednesday, at the opening ceremony of the 26th Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR-26) in Ankara, Turkey.
The Deputy Minister stressed Ghana’s dedication to advancing policies that support innovation, economic growth, and improved public service delivery through technology.
According to the Deputy Minister, the government remains focused on expanding digital infrastructure, strengthening cybersecurity systems, and creating a more enabling environment for technology startups and digital services to thrive.
The Deputy Minister noted that Ghana’s participation in the global symposium reflects the country’s determination to remain actively involved in shaping international policy discussions on emerging technologies and telecommunications regulation.
This year’s GSR-26 is examining critical issues within the rapidly evolving digital ecosystem, including artificial intelligence governance, spectrum management, digital inclusion, and cross-border data flows.
The symposium also provides a platform for regulators to share experiences and align strategies on emerging technological developments.
Ghana’s participation comes as the country continues to advance its Digital Ghana Agenda, an initiative aimed at leveraging technology to improve key sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, and public administration.
The Ghanaian delegation is also expected to engage in bilateral meetings during the symposium to explore investment opportunities and partnerships to support the growth of Ghana’s digital sector.
