An elderly man has been arrested in Accra for an alleged attempted car theft incident that occurred within a residential compound.
According to reports gathered from the scene, the suspect was allegedly working together with another individual to steal a vehicle parked inside the compound. Residents reportedly became suspicious during the operation and quickly raised an alarm, forcing the suspects to flee.
Eyewitnesses say one of the suspects managed to escape before residents could apprehend him, while the elderly man was captured and held until authorities arrived at the scene.
Videos and photos circulating online show the suspect surrounded by angry residents moments after his arrest. The incident has since sparked conversations on social media, with many expressing shock over the involvement of an elderly person in the alleged crime.
Police are expected to continue investigations into the matter while efforts are underway to identify and arrest the second suspect, who is on the run.
