A devastating accident at the busy Santasi–Ahodwo Roundabout in Kumasi on Friday, April 18, has left three people—including a pastor—seriously injured and more than twenty vehicles destroyed.
The crash involved three private cars and a heavy‑duty articulator truck. According to eyewitnesses, the initial collision occurred when a private car travelling from the Patase direction attempted to navigate the roundabout and collided with another vehicle approaching from the Kejetia road.
A third private car entering the roundabout from the same Kejetia stretch became entangled in the chaos, worsening the impact.
The force of the collisions propelled one of the vehicles into a parked articulator truck whose driver was behind the wheel at the time. The truck veered violently off the road and crashed into a nearby car sales yard, destroying over twenty vehicles on display. The truck driver escaped unhurt.
The drivers of the three private cars were not as fortunate. All sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where medical teams are working urgently to stabilise them. Among the injured is a pastor who managed to identify himself despite his condition. Details of his identity and the full extent of his injuries remain unconfirmed.
Police officers have since cordoned off the scene as investigations continue.
