The essence of leadership in the National Democratic Congress is measured not by titles or positions but by the ability to empower others. Every appointee and elected official holds a responsibility that goes far beyond personal gains. Their mandate is to open doors, create opportunities, and actively uplift the grassroots who have dedicated their lives to the party’s success. When one grassroots member benefits, the impact is multiplied exponentially. One empowered individual can influence ten others; one committed official can indirectly affect hundreds.
Sustainable empowerment must replace temporary handouts. It is not enough to offer cash or short-term relief; real change comes through employment, mentorship, training, and creation of opportunities that endure. Grassroots members should not wait passively for favors; they must engage proactively with appointees and elected persons, demonstrating what they can contribute and how their work can benefit the party and the country. Those who are lazy, selfish, or opportunistic should step aside, allowing committed comrades to flourish.
Accountability and accessibility are equally critical. Officials must maintain open doors, respond to calls, and stay connected with the grassroots as they did in opposition. Annual reviews should highlight both exemplary leaders and those who have grown distant due to the allure of power. This transparency builds trust, ensures fairness, and inspires others to emulate positive behavior.
Selfishness, favoritism, and indifference have no place in this administration. Instead, the current crop of leaders must set a new standard, one of inclusivity, collaboration, and tangible impact. By prioritizing the welfare of the grassroots, creating lasting opportunities, and fostering a culture of accountability, the National Democratic Congress can secure unity, loyalty, and sustainable progress, ensuring that power remains with the party for generations to come.
Return? We doubt . But he who has ears, let them hear!
