The Convention People’s Party (CPP) on Friday, 6th March 2026, celebrated its first-ever internally organized commemoration of Ghana’s Independence Day.
Held under the theme “A Journey to Nkroful – Operation HomeBase,” the event highlighted the party’s renewed commitment to reconnecting with its roots. Chairman of the National Reorganization Committee, Comrade Moses Yirimambo Ambin, emphasized that it is time for the people of the Western Region to be reminded that Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah is their own—and that they must proudly “own” both his legacy and the CPP.
The colourful celebration drew participants from all walks of life, including members of the diaspora.
As part of its broader reorganization agenda, the CPP has outlined a series of programmes, policies, and newly constituted groups designed to strengthen party structures nationwide.
THE 3Rs: Rebirth, Reconciliation, Reorganization
In his address, Comrade Yirimambo explained that the success of the programme reflects the party’s renewed focus on the 3Rs—Rebirth, Reconciliation, and Reorganization.
REBIRTH
Under the Rebirth agenda, the CPP has introduced significant reforms and restructured key organs to enhance efficiency and visibility.
- The Communications Team has been revamped, with renewed emphasis on strengthening the social media front.
- Tertiary branches of the party are being reorganized to attract and empower young people.
- Several auxiliary groups have been created to support official party structures and energize grassroots mobilization.
THE OSAGYEFO QUEENS
An all-female group established to support the Women’s Wing in recruiting and mentoring young women into the party.
THE YOUNG NKRUMAIST
A youth-focused group dedicated to ideological training, helping young Ghanaians understand Nkrumaism and its relevance to modern national development.
KƆKƆLE
A mobilization group formed to unify foot soldiers and sympathizers under one banner for effective grassroots operations.
COMRADES
A body of academics, intellectuals, and professionals tasked with developing strategies to communicate how Nkrumah’s ideology can transform key sectors of Ghana’s economy.
THE OSAGYEFO ARMY
A group responsible for providing internal security during party events.
These groups collectively form the backbone of the CPP’s Rebirth, Rebuilding, and Rebranding efforts.
RECONCILIATION
The second pillar of the 3Rs focuses on healing and unity. The Reorganization Committee has proposed a high‑level delegation to reach out to former aggrieved members as part of the party’s amnesty policy.
The Reconciliation initiative seeks to:
- Unconditionally pardon former members for past grievances
- Welcome them back into the party
- Engage all Nkrumaist political parties and pro‑Nkrumaist civil society groups to reunite under the CPP banner
REORGANIZATION
With Rebirth well underway and Reconciliation progressing successfully, the CPP has now intensified its Reorganization drive. The party is working with renewed zeal to complete the restructuring of polling stations, electoral areas, and constituency-level operations across the country.
