West African Examinations Council releases 2025 WASSCE private candidates results

The West African Examinations Council has released provisional results for 41,767 candidates who sat the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination for Private Candidates Second Series.

Out of the total number, 20,036 were male and 24,501 were female. The figure includes 16 visually impaired and 7 hearing-impaired candidates. WAEC also reported that 2,422 registered candidates were absent from the examination.

In a statement signed by Head of Public Affairs John Kapi, the Council outlined performance in the four core subjects. According to WAEC, 67.43% of candidates obtained grades A1 to C6 in English Language, 49.84% achieved A1 to C6 in Mathematics, 35% secured A1 to C6 in Integrated Science, and 81.21% attained A1 to C6 in Social Studies.

The statement further indicated that 11.25% scored D7, 10.28% E8 and 11.04% F9 in English Language. In Mathematics, 11.05% had D7, 11.42% E8 and 27.69% F9. For Integrated Science, 14.76% obtained D7, 18.24% E8 and 32% F9, while in Social Studies, 4.64% recorded D7, 3.72% E8 and 10.42% F9.

WAEC said the entire results of 348 candidates and subject results of 469 others have been withheld over alleged examination malpractice, including collusion, impersonation, possession of unauthorised materials and seeking external assistance. It noted that investigations are ongoing and the affected results will either be released or cancelled upon conclusion.

The Council cautioned the public against individuals who promise to upgrade results for a fee through mobile money transactions.

“WAEC's results database is well secured, and all results can be authenticated. Institutions and organisations are advised to verify results presented to them directly from WAEC or access the confirmation verification service online at the WAEC website,” the statement said.

Candidates may access their provisional results at www.waecgh.org. Those whose results have been withheld are required to visit https://irreg.waec.org to check the reasons and follow the stated procedures.

WAEC expressed appreciation to supervisors, invigilators and examiners for their roles in the successful conduct of the examination and the release of results.

RELEASE OF PROVISIONAL RESULTS FOR THE WEST AFRICAN SENIOR SCHOOL CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION (WASSCE) FOR PRIVATE CANDIDATES, 2025 - SECOND SERIES

The West African Examinations Council wishes to inform its numerous stakeholders that it has released provisional results of 41,767 candidates who sat the West African Senior School Certificate Examination for Private Candidates, 2025 — Second Series. The entry figure comprises 20,036 males and 24,501 females. Among the candidates who sat the examination, sixteen were visually impaired and seven were hearing impaired. A total of 2,422 candidates who registered for the examination were absent.

The entire results of 348 candidates as well as the subject results of 469 candidates who are alleged to have been involved in various cases of examination malpractice have been withheld pending the conclusion of investigations into their cases. These malpractices include collusion, impersonation, bringing in foreign materials into the examination hall and seeking external assistance among others. The withheld results of candidates will be released or cancelled based on the outcome of investigations.

Candidates whose results have been withheld should visit https://irreg.waec.org or click on the withheld/cancelled button on the home page. They will be redirected to the irregularity and investigations page. This page will display the reasons for withholding the results. Candidates will receive information on the next line of action.
