The danger of lack of emotional intelligence should not be underestimated because it causes damages and regrets and soon after regrets the damages have already been caused. The office of the President is for persons with emotional intelligence - rightly so because wrong decisions taken come with grave consequences to the citizens and the nation at large. We must be concerned about the reputation of the country.
In electing leaders to lead, fair assessment of potential Presidents is necessary for the betterment of society and the nation in general. Decisions taken now has consequences in the future.
The ability to control ones temperament makes him or her a man or woman. If an individual can not restraint himself or herself in the public domain when provoked, I am afraid, such a person is not worth leading a group of people talk less the whole nation.
I am just thinking aloud. In a situation where a President verbally abuses his appointees publicly on daily basis, especially when he doesn't understand the situation fully but act immediately with anger - how will the country be! I am imagining a President slapping his or her citizens without regard to the laws of the country.
I am just imagining making wrong security decisions as a President, causing damage to citizens and then regretting later. If such a decision leads to loss of lives, such lives can't be resurrected.
So, in making decisions, one must consider an individual's emotional intelligence and be guided by that. The decisions we make today have consequences in the future and we must make the right decisions today and be guaranteed of positive consequences. A word to a wise is enough.
Thank you
