The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Mr Simon Madjie, has highlighted the critical role of technology transfer in enhancing innovation, transparency, and value addition in Ghana’s pharmaceutical sector.
Delivering the keynote address at a workshop on the Legal and Regulatory Framework for Technology Transfers in the Pharmaceutical Sector in Accra, Mr Madjie emphasized that technology transfer is vital for positioning Ghana as a competitive hub for pharmaceutical investment.
He noted that the GIPC is committed to strengthening its facilitation role through the establishment of a Technology Transfer Department and by deepening collaboration with key regulatory bodies to support investors and local industries.
According to Mr Madjie, effective technology transfer will drive local production capacity, improve research and development, and ensure sustainable growth in the pharmaceutical industry.
He reiterated that the Centre will continue to champion initiatives that align with the government’s vision for a 24-hour economy, ensuring that Ghana remains attractive to investors while building a globally competitive pharmaceutical sector.
