Ike Turner Jr., the son of legendary musicians Ike and Tina Turner, has died at the age of 67. His death was confirmed by Tina Turner’s niece, Jacqueline Bullock, who revealed that he had been battling health issues for several years.
Bullock described Ike Jr. as “more like a brother” to her, recalling that they grew up together in the same famous household. “As the son of Tina and Ike Turner, his talent showed early on because there was no instrument he didn’t want to play,” she said.
Born to Ike Turner and Lorraine Taylor, Ike Jr. and his brother Michael were adopted by Tina Turner when she married Ike. He went on to become a gifted musician and a respected sound engineer, working with several artists including his mother. In 2007, he contributed to his father’s final album Risin’ With the Blues, which went on to win a Grammy Award.
Ike Turner Jr.’s parents rose to global fame in the 1960s and 1970s with hits such as River Deep – Mountain High and Nutbush City Limits. Behind their musical success, however, Tina Turner later revealed that her marriage to Ike was marked by years of abuse and torment.
Tina Turner passed away in 2023, while Ike Turner died in 2007. Ike Turner Jr. is remembered by family and fans for his musical versatility and deep connection to one of music’s most influential legacies.
