In every political season, there is special star that shines to hold a political party together and leads it to victory. History speaks well with this scenario and it happens all over the world. The shining star to lead NPP to regroup, rebuild and recapture power in 2028 is H. E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia . History vindicates this assertion. In everything we do, let us be guided by history.
From 1996 to 2007, the shining star of the New Patriotic Party was unarguably H. E. John Agyekum Kufuor. Mr. Kufuor led the party from difficult times to success with the support of the party. He lost the 1996 general elections in Ghana but the party still kept faith in him and repeated him in the 2000 general elections and victory was the result. He was identified as the shining star to lead NPP to victory and he delivered in his second attempt. He ruled NPP for twelve (12) years.
H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo succeded President Kufuor and led the party from 2007 to 2023 - ruling the party for sixteen (16) years. President Akufo-Addo was identified by the party as a shining star of the party at that moment and despite losing two consecutive general elections in Ghana, the party rallied behind him in 2016 in his third chance bid to lead the party to victory. In Akufo-Addo's third attempt, he delivered victory for NPP.
History indeed is on the side of Dr. Bawumia. People will ask why didn't NPP repeat Prof Adu Boahene in 1996 and my answer to such people is that that might be the reason NPP lost in the 1996 general elections. Consistency is key here.
Extending my lenses beyond the NPP, similar case scenarios occurred in the National Democratic Congress (NDC). The late President John Evans Atta Mills went through similar experiences just like former President Akufo-Addo, losing two major elections and finally winning power for NDC in 2008. He was the NDC's shining star identified within that period and the party rallied behind him to win them power despite losing two consecutive general elections.
The current President of Ghana, H. E. John Dramani Mahama lost the 2016 elections as a sitting president but the NDC as a party saw him as a shining star to winning them power again and rallied behind him even after losing another elections in 2020. He led them to victory in the last elections.
Sticking to your shining star is the secret. He or she is the magic star to getting the desired results. And it is an unambiguously evident that the shining star of the NPP at this moment is H. E. Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia . He is the best to lead NPP to victory in 2028.
Thank you
