A total of 1,194 recruits have joined the Ghana Police Service amid calls to uphold the Service's integrity and avoid actions that could damage its reputation.
The cohort comprises 633 females and 561 males who completed a six-month training programme covering police procedures, law of evidence, public order management, swimming, driving, communication skills, and child-friendly policing.
Alhaji Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka, Minister of Interior and reviewing officer at the passing-out ceremony, urged the recruits to serve with integrity.
“You are a servant so you must serve with integrity.”
He also emphasized humility, courage, and lawful service, reminding officers that their badge symbolised responsibility—not intimidation.
Admitting the new personnel into the Service, the Minister expressed confidence in their readiness to tackle crime using the skills acquired during training.
Six recruits received special awards for excellence in categories including conduct, physical training, drill, marksmanship, swimming, and academics.
Sergeant Sophia Elikplim Dedjoe was named overall best National female in academics.
The ceremony was attended by dignitaries from the Police Management Board, traditional leaders, retired officers, representatives of sister security agencies, and families.
