Dear Tomorrow

Dear Tomorrow

Dear tomorrow
what will they say of me
who will love me as I lived
who will tell of the eyes of my heart as it was

who will liking my faults to a generational mystery

and outplay my life as a scratchy musical cd
who will stand for me and who will be against me

who will say, he was the worst I ever met
and who will defend my worst as a mistake of his own

Dear tomorrow
make me grow old with you
wear me grey as the winters handshake
tell me tales of life and leave me to ponder
over the seasons hymnals
keep me under your umbrella of safety
so I escape the whips of the rain
and the burns of the afternoon sun
Dear tomorrow
I have come to understand that,
we play together as children
eat in bowls of laughter
share dreams with each one in it
but destiny sets us apart on different journeys

and marriages disperse us as seeds
and we germinate at where the soil found our use

We raise new family's we never imagined
and stay far apart from our neighbours as though we were cursed.

Dear tomorrow,
teach my hands how to tilt the earth
satisfy my days with longing breath
For,
Some live to be hundreds
others tens in teens
and some vanished as flowing waters
Dear tomorrow
you sat me under the waving tree
and told me not to judge the actions of men
'coz their indifferent encounters
in their darkest moments
were unknown to all men
Dear tomorrow
care for me like a baby
make me not an alien unto many
fetch not sand under my feet
so the earth fails to help me
hold me firm in the days of my age
and my guardian on and on
pitch a lamp before me during the sunny moments

for it is only I who knows what the night holds

Dear tomorrow
break the day once more
and let God be my loyal guest
for there's a win in you, I am a partaker of

as life is full of cruel expenses unbargained.
