President John Mahama has revoked the appointment of Anne Sansa Daly as a member of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) Board.

This was communicated in a letter dated May 23, signed by Dr. Callistus Mahama, Executive Secretary to the President.

The letter did not state any reasons for the revocation, but it comes amid widespread allegations concerning the authenticity of Sansa Daly’s academic qualifications from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

“I write to inform you that the President of the Republic has, with immediate effect, revoked the appointment of Anne Sansa Daly as a member of the Board of the National Health Insurance Authority,” the letter stated in part.

The letter further announced that President Mahama has nominated Prof. Dr. Ernest Yorke to replace her on the Board.

“Kindly take the necessary steps to facilitate the swearing-in of Prof. Dr. (Med) Ernest Yorke accordingly,” it added, in a letter addressed to the Health Minister, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh.
