Seven individuals arrested in connection with the robbery and murder of Mawutor Adzahli, a former Assembly Member for Sogakope, have been convicted by the Ho High Court 1.
The court, presided over by Justice John Ekow Mensah, on May 22, found three of the accused persons guilty of robbery and murder.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, May 27, by DSP Felix Danku of the Public Affairs Unit of the Volta Regional Police Command, it was revealed that Richard Adikyere was sentenced to life imprisonment for his role in the murder of the Assembly Member.
Stephen Adzibolo and Emmanuel Hedzro were also sentenced to 47 years’ imprisonment each.
“Four (4) other accused persons—Samuel Kofi Zotorvi, Christian Zotorvi, Michael Sam, and Obed Ayornu—who pleaded guilty during the course of the trial were convicted and sentenced as follows: Samuel Kofi Zotorvi and Christian Zotorvi were sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment each, while Michael Sam and Obed Ayornu received 20 years each,” the police reported.
The statement added that the convicts are currently serving their sentences at the Ho Central Prisons.
