The assembly Members of Offinso North District have unanimously confirmed the President’s nominee, Hon. Ceasar Ofosu Acheampong, as the new District Chief Executive (DCE).
The confirmation vote, held as part of the official approval process, saw Hon. Ofosu Accheampong receiving 100 percent endorsement securing all the 35 votes from the assembly members present.
The event, which took place in packed assembly main hall, was graced by dignitaries including the Ashanti Regional Minister Representative Mr. Prince Atta, Member of Parliament for Offinso North, Hon. Dir. Fred Kyei Asamoah, traditional authority, heads of department, and the general public.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Ofosu Acheampong thanked the President and the Assembly members for the trust imposed in him. He highlighted priorities areas such as infrastructure development, enhanced public service, youth employment, education, healthcare, and sanitation.
The DCE also promised an open door leadership style, encouraging active citizen participation in local governance and called for collective effort to drive home the district’s progress.
Hon. Dr. Fred Kyei Asamoah, Member of Parliament for the area, commended the unity demonstrated during the confirmation process. He called on the people to set aside political differences and support the DCE and assembly Members to achieve shared development goals.
Hon. Dr. Kyei also called for close collaboration between the DCE, assembly Members, and traditional leaders emphasizing the vital role of unity in achieving a prosperous Offinso North.
Earlier, Hon Charles Abugari was elected the Presiding Member of the assembly. He pulled 33 yes votes of the 35 members present. Hon. Charles Abugari thanked his colleagues for the honour done him and called on them to collaborate with him to drive home the development of the district.
