Dollar gift saga: I will set my church on fire if I am the reason Sammy Gyamfi will lose his job – Agradaa

Evangelist Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has come to the defense of Sammy Gyamfi, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board, following public criticism over a cash gift she received from him.

She says she will set fire to her church in a show of solidarity if Sammy Gyamfi is dismissed from his office for dashing her 800 dollars in public despite her persistent explanations.

The controversy erupted after a video surfaced showing Gyamfi counting and handing over dollar notes to Agradaa at a public event.

The footage sparked backlash from the public and the Minority in Parliament, who have since demanded Gyamfi’s dismissal, calling the gesture inappropriate for a public official.

Responding to the uproar in an Instagram live video, Nana Agradaa expressed deep concern that her involvement might cost Gyamfi his position.

“This is my mantle, my Bible, and my anointing oil, as a great woman of God, and I say that I will set my church on fire if I am the reason Sammy will lose his job,” she declared.

She also insisted that there was nothing wrong with Gyamfi's actions, arguing that his generosity should not be condemned.

“Because the Bible said we should do good to everybody, the Bible did not discriminate when it said that. So, if Sammy Gyamfi gives me money, he deserves to do that.”

To calm the growing tension, Agradaa announced her intention to return the money.

“I will return the $800 and film it as evidence if that's what it'll take for Sammy Gyamfi not to lose his job and for the NDC members to leave me alone,” she said.

Her remarks come amid ongoing political debates about ethics and accountability in public office.
