As schools within the Central Tongu district prepare to close for the end-of-second-term break, Adidome Local Chairman of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), Mr. Stanley Agbozo, has delivered a thoughtful message to both teachers and students, urging them to use the vacation period wisely and purposefully.
Speaking during a brief interaction with colleagues and students at various schools, Mr. Agbozo applauded teachers' unwavering commitment and sacrifices throughout the academic term. He acknowledged the tireless efforts teachers continue to invest in nurturing and shaping young minds despite the challenges often confronting the profession.
Turning his attention to the students, Mr. Agbozo encouraged them to remain disciplined and responsible during the vacation. He advised them to use the break as an opportunity to revise their notes, engage in productive reading, and support their families with household responsibilities so they return for the new term both refreshed and better prepared for academic excellence.
As the saying goes, "The child who does not sharpen his hoe during the dry season will have nothing to harvest when the rains come."
He emphasized that the vacation should not be seen as a time for idleness but rather as a period for personal growth, reflection, and preparation for future success.
Additionally, Mr. Agbozo appealed to parents and guardians to pay close attention to their children’s welfare and behaviour during the holiday period. He also encouraged teachers to use the break for rest and self-reflection, intending to return stronger and more innovative in the coming term.
He concluded his remarks by wishing all teachers, students, and their families a peaceful, safe, and fulfilling vacation, reminding everyone that education is a collective responsibility, and with unity and commitment, the future of the local, district and the country remains bright.
