Madam Gloria Opoku Gyamfi, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) has pledged resetting the Municipal Assembly to create decent jobs for the youth, promote agro-businesses and food security and consolidate peace and security in the Municipality.
She noted she would dialogue and engage all key stakeholders, State Actors and Non-State Actors alike especially Nananom, religious leaders, security agencies, the media, Assembly members and opinion leaders to reset the Wenchi Municipal Medium Term Development Plan in line with the government development policies and programmes.
“I will constantly dialogue and engage all key stakeholders, State Actors and Non-State Actors alike especially Nananom, Religious Leaders, Security Agencies, the media Assembly members and opinion leaders to reset the Wenchi Municipal Medium Term Development Plan in line the Government Development policies and programmes to accelerate socio-economic development to create decent jobs for the youth, promote agro-businesses and food security and consolidate peace and security in the Municipality,” she said.
Madam Gloria Opoku said this in her acceptance speech when the Assembly Members of Wenchi Municipal Assembly overwhelmingly gave her 100 percent endorsement as MCE for Wenchi in an election conducted by the Municipal Electoral Commission.
She expressed profound gratitude to the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E John Dramani Mahama, for the great honour done her and an appreciation to the Assembly members for the overwhelming confirmation.
The MCE also pledged open, and transparent and accountable administration. “I would run an all-inclusive, consultative and responsive administration to enhance good governance for sustainable quality service delivery for the betterment of the lives of the good people of Wenchi Municipality,” she emphasized.
Bono Regional Minister, Mr. Joseph Addae Akwaboa, in his remarks, described the MCE as a determined person who could work hard to promote the President’s development agenda of resetting Ghana. He urged the Assembly and all the stakeholders to support her realize the dreams of bringing development to Wenchi.
Mr. Henry Ameworwor, the Assembly Member for Pramaso/Nkyeraa was elected Presiding Member of the Assembly with 41 votes, representing 100 percent.
