The Christian Council of Ghana (CCG) has congratulated the entire Muslim community in Ghana on the successful completion of this year’s Ramadan and the celebration of Eid al-Fitr.
In a press release signed by Rev. Dr. Cyril Fayose, the CCG acknowledged the significance of the Ramadan period, noting that it offered Muslim brothers and sisters an invaluable opportunity for closer communion with Allah and for prayers for themselves and others.
The Council highlighted the continuous efforts in building strong and cordial interfaith engagements with the Muslim community in Ghana.
“These collaborations focus not only on fostering peace and harmony but also on empowering both religious bodies to contribute meaningfully to the nation’s development,” the statement said.
The statement recalled several collaborative initiatives, including the Faith in Alliance Ghana (FIGA) initiative, the Programme for Christian-Muslim Relations in Africa (PROCUMURA), the Ghana Conference for Religion and Peace (GCRP), and other interfaith platforms that facilitate meaningful engagements.
The CCG also noted the recent collaboration at the National Education Forum, where both Christian and Muslim representatives contributed their ideas towards shaping education in Ghana.
The Christian Council offered prayers for God’s blessings of long life and prosperity upon the National Chief Imam, the leaders of all other Muslim groups, and the entire Muslim community in Ghana.
They expressed hope that the blessings and spiritual closeness experienced by Muslims during Ramadan would empower them to continue contributing their quota to building a peaceful, harmonious, and progressive society for all Ghanaians.
