The Paramount Chief of the Nandom Traditional Area, Naa Professor Edmund Nminyem Delle Chiir VIII, has commended the Muslim community for completing the holy month of Ramadan.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Paramount chief urged Muslims to celebrate the Eid al-Fitr festivities with caution, emphasizing the need to prioritize safety and responsibility.

Naa Prof Chiir VIII, who is also an accomplished dermatologist, praised the Muslim community for their dedication and perseverance throughout the fasting period.

"I am impressed by the commitment and resilience of our Muslim brothers and sisters during Ramadan," he said. "Your ability to abstain from food and drink from dawn to dusk is a testament to your strong faith and discipline."

The Nandom King, who is an acclaimed statesman, also cautioned Muslims to celebrate the Eid al-Fitr festivities with moderation and responsibility.

"As we celebrate this significant occasion, I urge everyone to be mindful of their actions and ensure that they do not compromise their safety and the safety of others," he emphasized.

Naa Prof Chiir VIII also seized the opportunity to remind the Muslim community of the importance of allowing the spiritual benefits of Ramadan to extend beyond the individual to their families, communities, and the nation as a whole.

"Ramadan is a time for spiritual reflection, self-improvement, and renewal," he noted. "I encourage our Muslim brothers and sisters to share the blessings of Ramadan with their loved ones, neighbours, and communities, promoting peace, harmony, and understanding."

"May the blessed month of Ramadan 2025 bring you closer to Allah, filling your hearts with joy, gratitude and spiritual growth. Wishing you a peaceful and blessed Ramadan," Naa Prof Chiir stated.

The Nandom King reminded all of the importance of balancing celebration with responsibility and compassion.

The King's statement has been welcomed by the Muslim community, who appreciate his thoughtful words and wise counsel.

"We are grateful for the Naandom King's kind sentiments and timely reminder," a local Muslim leader told newsmen.

"We will certainly take his advice to heart and strive to make the Eid al-Fitr celebrations a joyous and safe occasion for all," a Muslim cleric stated.

Muslims in Ghana and around the world celebrate Eid-al-Fitr.
