President John Dramani Mahama has met with members of the Ghanaian community to commend their contributions and address their concerns during his official visit to Sierra Leone.

Speaking to the group, Mahama conveyed the appreciation of Sierra Leone’s President, Dr. Julius Maada Bio, for the peaceful and hardworking nature of Ghanaians living in the country.
“President Bio says Ghanaians are peaceful, you are doing your work well, and they live peacefully with you. So he actually praised the Ghanaian community and that’s why he said after our meeting I should come and meet with you and extend their appreciation for the work you are doing here,” Mahama shared.

The President also acknowledged the issues raised by the community regarding permits and taxes.
He assured them of his commitment to discussing these matters and exploring potential solutions.

“The few issues you have raised about the permits and taxes, I will try and raise it to see what progress we can make, but well done,” he added.
