The Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) has announced that the country's economy was worth ₵1.2 trillion in 2024, with an overall growth rate of 5.7%.

At a press conference on Monday, March 10, Government Statistician Samuel Kobina Annim made this announcement, giving specifics on the nation's economic performance.

“In the last quarter of 2024, the economy, in current GDP terms, was valued at ₵330.1 billion, while in constant terms, adjusted for price changes, it stood at ₵53 billion,” he stated.

He also stated that the services sector remained the largest contributor to the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP), accounting for 49.2% of economic output in the fourth quarter of 2024.

The industry sector followed with 31.9%, while agriculture provided 19.1%.

Mr. Annim provided yearly GDP estimates for January to December 2024, revealing that Ghana's economy was valued at ₵190.7 billion in constant terms, representing a 5.7% gain over the previous year.

From a non-oil standpoint, the economy expanded by 6.0% in 2024, with the services sector accounting for 46% of GDP, followed by industry (30.8%) and agriculture (22.2%).
