The Member of Parliament (MP) for Bolgatanga East Constituency, Dominic Akuritinga Ayini has been named as Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, pending approval from Parliament.
The experienced lawyer is one of three MPs named by President John Dramani Mahama in his first set of ministerial nominations.
Ahead of his vetting and consideration by Parliament’s Appointments Committee, here is a brief profile of Dominic Ayine.
The Attorney-General and Minister for Justice Designate is a senior lawyer with three decades of experience in practice.
He holds a Ph.D. in law from Stanford University, a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of Michigan Law School, and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Ghana. He has also lectured at the University of Ghana Law School for many years.
Born January 6, 1966, he previously served as Deputy Attorney General and Minister for Justice and is the founding partner of Ayini & Partners Law Offices.
If his appointment is approved, it will be an elevation from his past role and a chance to make a difference from the top.

John Abdulai Jinapor has also been nominated as Minister for Energy Designate.
