In a gesture that reaffirms his commitment to grassroots empowerment, the Member of Parliament-elect for Garu, Hon. Dr. Thomas W. Anabah, has fulfilled a key campaign promise by recognizing polling stations and electoral areas that demonstrated outstanding support during the recent 2024 general elections.
The initiative, aimed at fostering inclusivity and appreciation, reflects Hon. Anabah’s leadership style of listening to and delivering for his constituents.
At a ceremony held to celebrate the top-performing polling stations, Hon. Anabah awarded prizes to six stations based on their voting outcomes. Meliga Polling Station, which recorded an impressive 99.4% of total votes cast, took the top spot and was rewarded with 10,000 cedis.
Ziseri Polling Station followed closely with 99.3%, earning 5,000 cedis, while Gbanterago Polling Station, with 98.5%, received 4,000 cedis. Kparimboaka Day Care Polling Station ranked fourth with 98.4%, receiving 3,000 cedis. Gozesi Day Care and Pialogu A Polling Stations tied for fifth place with 97.4% each, earning 1,000 cedis apiece.

Electoral areas with the highest voter turnout were also celebrated. Kpatia and Tamne Electoral Areas were each presented with a trophy and a football, while Zaari Electoral Area received two footballs. Pialogu Electoral Area was awarded a football and eight NDC-branded caps, and Garu Natinga Electoral Area received a football.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Anabah emphasized the importance of recognizing and rewarding loyalty, stating that such gestures inspire unity and strengthen community participation. He highlighted his commitment to making governance inclusive, ensuring that the efforts of grassroots supporters are valued and acknowledged.
As he prepares to take office, Hon. Anabah’s actions serve as a testament to his vision for a constituency built on collaboration and mutual respect. By honoring the contributions of polling stations and electoral areas, he has set the tone for a leadership style rooted in community engagement and empowerment.
