NPP PC Nana Agyemang-Prempeh declared MP-Elect for Ahafo Ano North

Eric Nana Agyemang-Prempeh of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been declared the Member of Parliament-elect for the Ahafo Ano North Constituency after the Electoral Commission (EC) concluded the collation of results under court directive.

The re-collation on Saturday, December 21, which followed an Accra High Court order, saw Agyemang-Prempeh securing 20,353 votes to beat his closest contender, Kwasi Adusei of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who garnered 20,232 votes.

The total valid votes cast were 40,585, with 390 ballots rejected, bringing the total votes cast to 40,975.

The declaration was made by the Returning Officer, Kwaku Boamah, who affirmed the accuracy of the results at a collation centre.

Prince Boamah, the agent for Eric Nana Agyemang-Prempeh, signed to validate the results.

This re-collation was part of a court-mandated process to resolve disputes in nine constituencies, including Tema Central, Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Ablekuma North, Techiman South, and Okaikwei Central.

The court ordered the EC to finalize the results and declare winners in adherence to electoral laws after issues of irregularities and alleged duress in the earlier collation.
