The NDC Parliamentary candidate and Member of Parliament elect for Chereponi constituency of the North East Region,Hon. Seidu Alajor has several occasions pledged his commitment to serve the good people of chereponi.
According to him, chereponi is left in despair and deprived for several years and successive government that has come and gone never fix pressing issues confronting the constituents. Among some of these challenges including;road network, portable drinking water, jobs for the youth, and other social amenities.
Addressing the supporters, party faithfuls and residents after his victory, Hon. Alajor reaffirms his commitment to serve, ready to fulfill them with the support of the constituents. Drawing the attention of conflict nature of chereponi and it's surrounding, it's insecured and will work tirelessly to restore peace in the area when assume the seat as MP.
Hon. Alajor contested the NDC internal parliamentary primaries election in 2020, chereponi constituency and lost to Hon. Abdulai Jabanyite, the former Mp for Chereponi, he came back to contest the 2024 parliamentary primaries in the same constituency,the same NDC and won the internal election.
He went into the 2024 general election with Hon. Tahidu Abdu-Razak, the incumbent MP on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party, grappling with serious challenges,as a new face on the ballot paper,it was not easy at all, especially marketing a candidate who spent much of life outside Ghana.
Hon. Seidu Alajor, NDC secured 16977 votes representing (50.3%) with closest contender Hon. Abdul-Razak Tahidu also secured 16,800 representing (49.7%). Based on the above figures,Hon. Seidu Alajor was declared the MP elect for Chereponi constituency in the just ended 2024 December 7 General Election.
