
The Jean Mensa-led Electoral Commission (EC) “has suspended the printing of presidential ballot papers” in view of the “unfortunate passing” of Madam Akua Donkor.
EC has noted that the printing of presidential ballot papers was near completion.
Samuel Tettey, the Deputy Chairman of Operations at the EC in a statement said “The Commission has suspended the printing of Presidential Ballot Papers which was near completion.”
He explained that based on this provision, the GFP has been formally instructed to “make arrangements to nominate a new candidate and inform the Commission accordingly.”
This directive ensures that GFP still has a chance to contest in the 2024 presidential race.
A farmer and politician, the founder and presidential candidate of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Akua Donkor, passed on Monday, October 28, 2024. She was pronounced dead at the Ridge Hospital, Accra, having been transferred there from the Nsawam Government Hospital.
According to her last child, the head of family will in due time explain the circumstances surrounding Madam Donkor’s shocking passing.
She was 72.

I think we will have run 🏃♀️ to Supreme Court for the interpretation of the law before giving orders to GFP to nominates new candidates. Because the article quoted is clearly spelled out just like 97.Npp never again 🙄
