Inhabitants of Ejuratia in the Afigya Kwabre South District of the Ashanti Region, the birthplace of the late Akua Donkor, leader and founder of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), are mourning following news about her death.
Sympathisers are trooping to the family house of the late Presidential Candidate of the Ghana Freedom Party to empathize with the family and also extend their condolences.

News about her death has taken centre stage, with many sharing memories of the development she brought to the area while she served as an Assembly Member member.
The residents including the daughter of the late Akua Donkor, Ama Serwaa Bonsu, are calling on the state to give a state burial to her mother.
They also called for the recognition of her role in empowering young people, especially the girl child.

“My mother contributed significantly to the development of Ghana, she has really impacted several communities and lives. I will always remember her anytime I bump into politicians. She embarked on several developmental projects, and we have an asphalt road at Ejuratia because of my mother.
“She took family land of 25 acres for the construction of the road, she also constructed a bus station, and she also refurbished the school in Ejuratia
“In Abrade, she also provided water, and energy and built a school, and in Hemang, she built a market, and a toilet facility at the police station at Mamponteng.
“She provided the seats at the Mamponteng court. She accomplished so many things for the communities. I’m calling on the state to honour her by giving her a state burial for her.”
