Joyce Bawah Mogtari, spokesperson for John Dramani Mahama’s 2024 campaign, has reaffirmed the former president’s clout as the best choice to lead Ghana into a brighter future.
In a social media post on Friday, October 18, she praised Mahama for his honesty, deep knowledge and commitment to improving the lives of all Ghanaians.
“Each time we listen to our esteemed leader, John Mahama, present his policy initiatives, we hear a man who is not only sincere but deeply knowledgeable, driven, and committed to improving the lives of all Ghanaians,” Mogtari wrote.
She stressed that central to Mahama’s vision is a broad approach to economic development.
Mogtari highlighted Mahama’s Enhanced Markets Policy, an initiative aimed at modernizing market infrastructure across the country.
“This initiative aims to provide modernised facilities that will significantly improve the lives of our traders, market women, and customers,” she explained, pointing out that the policy would create a safer and more hygienic environment for all who depend on the markets.
Mogtari underscored the importance of the informal sector in Ghana’s economy, particularly the crucial role played by women.
“In Ghana, the backbone of our economy is the informal sector, where many of our women are engaged,” she noted.
Mahama’s approach, she said, is a bottom-up strategy, focusing on empowering the very people who drive the economy.
One of the key programs within Mahama’s vision is the Women’s Development Bank, designed to support women-led and women-owned businesses. Mogtari praised this initiative as a crucial step towards advancing women’s economic empowerment.
“The NDC, under Mahama’s leadership, has consistently focused on developing the economy through a bottom-up approach… It’s a clear sign that both Mahama and the NDC value and respect the contribution of women to our nation’s growth and development,” she stated.
