The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has alleged that there have been 243,540 illegal voter transfers in the 2024 Provincial Voters Register.
In a petition to the Electoral Commission (EC) on Tuesday, September 17; the NDC cites this figure as one of several "troubling discrepancies and unauthorised manipulations" discovered in the provisional register.
In the petition, NDC National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah says the party has "uncovered evidence of two hundred and forty-three thousand, five hundred and forty (243,540) illegal transfers in the 2024 PVR, including repeated transfers without the knowledge of the affected voters."
The NDC chairman questions "who authorised these transfers and the role of EC officials in this process."
He argues the scale of unauthorized transfers "raises serious concerns regarding the potential for election fraud."
Expressing the view of the "Good and Peace-loving People of Ghana," the petition demands an "urgent forensic audit" of the register and the EC's IT systems.
The NDC believes the "irregularities pose a significant and immediate threat to the credibility of the 2024 General Elections."
The party has given the EC a list of demands, including convening stakeholders and publishing the results of the independent audit.
This follows demonstrations across all 16 regional capitals dubbed “Enough is Enough” aimed to draw attention to alleged irregularities in the voters' register.
In the regions, crowds numbering thousands marched to regional EC offices to submit petitions outlining the NDC's grievances with the electoral process.
Despite calls for an audit, the EC has so far refused to conduct one, insisting the issues with the register are being addressed.
However, the opposition party insists that the issue can only be addressed when the voters' register goes through an independent forensic audit by any of the audit firms.

Why is this devilish NDC always mentioning figures but with no names? Provide the names their polling stations or where their names were transferred from and maybe some of us will take you serious because shouting with no evidence like your 2020 election petition won't get you anywhere.
