The Technical University Teachers' Association of Ghana (TUTAG) has raised concern about the growing tension surrounding the voters' register for the 2024 general election.
With just a few months to the 2024 general election, there are concerns about errors in the voters' register.
Due to this, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has called for an independent forensic audit of the voters' register before the December 7 polls.
In a press release signed by TUTAG President Prof. Uriah Tetteh, TUTAG has called on the Electoral Commission to work with all political parties to address the issues.
TUTAG believes that it is only through this that the country’s peace and democratic stability can be maintained.
“The growing tension surrounding the voters' register is alarming and if not addressed with urgency and transparency, could undermine the peace and democratic stability of our nation. TUTAG stands firm in its belief that only through a transparent, free, and fair election can we truly reflect the will of the Ghanaian people.
“We, therefore, call on all parties and the Electoral Commission to work together in good faith and with mutual respect to address these challenges. It is only through collective effort and commitment to democratic principles that we can ensure the 2024 elections strengthen, rather than threaten, the fabric of our nation,” TUTAG said in its press release.

What politely tension? All the noises are coming from NDC and it surrogates. EC hasn't done any untoward. It is the empty barrels making the most noise. They have no message for the electorate. They have abandoned their empty manifesto and mow attacking the EC. Instead of going around explaining their empty 24 hour economy, they are making noises about galamsey and EC. Shameless Mahama
